Europe ITF Taekwon-do Federation

The annual EITF Congress was held this year in Adria, Ankaran Slovenia on day two of the European Championships. Representatives from 33 of the member NGBs from across Europe attended to discuss the development of the EITF in Europe and plan for its future.

EITF President Grand Master Michael Prewett and the EITF Executive Board were honoured to be joined by ITF President Prof. Grand Master Ri Yong Son and ITF Technical Director Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong. Welcome speeches were given by both Presidents, both expressing the strength of Europe and the strong bonds between ITF and EITF.

Grand Master Prewett’s agenda this year covered the planning for next year’s European Championships 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia which will take place on the 28th April – 4th May. The presentation included videos taken in and around Tallinn, an introduction of the main sponsor and detailed explanation on the design of the 2025 logo. Also presented was the venue and locational videos for the 2026 European Championships which will return to, the post covid hosts, in Crete. A new championship host country of Serbia also expressed an interest to congress for consideration in 2027.

The EITF were delighted to be joined this year by members from Kazakhstan who were voted, unanimously into the EITF family. We look forward to seeing more of their team in future events.

Discussions on the development of the EITF Constitution and associated rules and guidelines were also covered during the meeting. This is something we will continue to drive forward in the fairest way possible, meeting all European legalities.

PR and Marketing Direct Nenad Seferagic presented his future vision of an International Teams event to be introduced over the next 12 months to add more depth to our range of competition format available to the public.

Grand Master Prewett concluded the meeting by thanking all NGBs for their continued support and openness to help grow Taekwon-Do across Europe.
